Using the big three levers of data, people and economics we go through a structured process to uncover all the information that gives us the ability to pinpoint where to look for hidden value.
To identify where we can add value, we first look at data. What data is being generated from a particular site? What is the quality and the reliability of the data? Is the data being collected and managed and most importantly, how is data being used to make operational decisions on site?
Next, we assess how people play a role in operating a plant at its maximum efficiency. What is the skill and experience base on the site? How are people on site supported in making operational decisions? What is the culture in the organisation? How are people incentivised and managed?
Finally, we need to develop a good understanding on the maximum economic impact that could be achieved at a site. Where is the asset within its planned lifecycle? Have any fundamental assumptions changed since it was built and how well is it matched to the orebody? Data, People and Economics are the 3 levers we use to uncover hidden value for a mining company.
